Hello i have a Realtek RTL8811AU wireless LAN 802.11ac USB2.0 network adapter that i got for Christmas and im having a lot of trouble trying to get it to connect to my router and thus the internet. ISP is XfinityĮDIT: For some reason pictures didn't show up.Ĭopyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. Not sure if this is router, nothing has been wrong with other computers in the house. This is one of the most bizarre issues I have come across and to date, I have found no workaround or fix. I don't just unplug it all the time, even when I just simply press eject on the pop-up menu, I BSOD. Oh and one last terrible thing to mention, whenever I just unplug the adapter from the USB port, my computer BSODS.

I've tried using Windows to find drivers for my adapter, and windows does find drivers, but once installed, my adapter is disabled and won't enable! AND my computer literally cannot even start-up and I have to repair windows essentially. There's probably many ways to get even more info on this internet speed etc, so I came here.

Just writing this post this is what I get according to the Task Manager: 65Mbps!!Īnd also according to software that came with the adapter I get decent strength and everything is fine (See picture). When I try to connect to WoW, or Eve Online (pretty much any game) my internet goes wacky! I can't do anything. I can connect to facebook and usual websites fine and fast! Occasionally youtube will be weird, but barely. :banghead: and I also can't find ANY drivers for it, I've installed to what seem like they'd work according to the realtek website, but they have not fixed anything regarding my issue below. I have the Realtek RTL8188CU Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 adapter, which for some reason doesn't work in wireless 2.0, but works in 3.0. So it is obviously the driver that decides the choices there. So first off, I'd fix this issue if I could find drivers that actually worked, I'm 70% sure the issue is because of drivers, but then again, I could be wrong.
He is using an older driver from last year, and his DOES list Wireless N as a choice. There is no choice for 802.11 n.Ī friend has the exact same desktop and WiFi adaptor. Second, the advanced wireless properties for my network adapter in Device Manager only offers 802.11 a b & g for Wireless Mode. First, why does netsh wlan show drivers list 802.11n twice? It didn't do that before.
Netsh wlan show interfaces says "Radio type: 802.11n" My router firmware is also the latest available.

My wifi driver is the latest available for my system (1803) from the Microsoft Update Catalog, dated version 2024.0.9.101. I want to share two things I noticed that are odd. I'm aware that Realtek is having issues with it, thanks to I've done the usual things to attempt to resolve it. I've been getting disconnects with my RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe adaptor.
